For Southern Lady's Market Monday this week I'm presenting this pair of crocheted turtle pincushions which are in my Handmade Shop. My mother crocheted these before she died in 1957, and I found them in her sewing box which was left to me. She had them stuffed with cotton wadding which had yellowed with age, so I washed them and re-stuffed them with cotton balls.
They look pretty much the same on the top as they do on the bottom, and one is slightly smaller than the other. My older sisters told me she had these hanging in her bedroom at their lake-cottage for decorations. Yeah, I can envision that.
