Bread Basket Liners - Vintage Saturday

Yesterday we took out kitty comforters to the Animal Shelter in near-by Lancaster.  Afterwards, my hubby wanted to check out a store we've been wondering about that had moved into a former furniture store. It turned out to be a Good Will type of place.  A huge collection of donated clothes, knick-knacks, furniture, books...you name it.  We came away with quite a few things, and one of my finds were these pretty bread basket liners....marked 49 cents for both!  How cool.  It was Friday, and they have everything marked down 1/2 price on Fridays, so I got both for 26 cents.  Of course, we came out with more finds than these, but all in all, it's a great new place I'll frequent more often no that I know about it.  The only question is do I keep these to use, or do I put them in my Flamingo K's Vintage Shop....hmmmm.

What a clever shape for a bread basket!

Chunky Bracelet -- Market Monday

This week I'm featuring this pretty bracelet over at Southern Lady's Market Monday.

Here's the story....We have inherited many nice pieces of jewelry from my Mother-in-law.  This stretch goldtone bracelet is one of them.  We think she acquired it in the 70s (yeah, hard to believe, but its considered vintage), but we're really not sure.  By then, she and Dad had moved to Florida leaving the kids behind in Ohio, and we just didn't get to see them often enough to notice new jewelry.  It's in excellent condition.  She took very good care of her things.

Vargus Rings -- Vintage Saturday

Flamingo K's Vintage recently listed 5 vintage cocktail rings from my mother-in-laws estate.  I believe they are all Vargus, but I can't quite make out the imprint on the inside of the bands with my aging eyes.  Aren't they pretty.

Be sure to pop on over to Southern Ladies to check out some other fine offerings....

Period Costume - Vintage Saturday

s2010 03 07 music man d
  Picallily Lady Flamingo K.
This week I'd like to share this costume that I made for a local production of The Music Man. It's not vintage, but it looks the part....

It's for sale in Flamingo K's Handmade Boutique. It consists of a blue satin blouse with Velcro back closures and puffy sleeves. The skirt is of corduroy and has a short train. It was custom made for the actress, but its a size 8, generally...just made longer for a tall girl. This is the view of the back.

Be sure to check out Vintage Ladies blog hop to see what others are showcasing this weekend.

Introducing Chantilly and Pearls

I'm really excited to announce my new Shop on Zibbet called Chantilly and Pearls.
(Watch for Wedding Wednesdays to start soon.)
For a few weeks now I've been working on some new wedding items for my Artfire Handmade Studio.  However, with more thought, I came to the conclusion that it might be better to keep a more narrow scope to my marketing.  So I decided to design a new Studio just for wedding gear.  Since Artfire no longer offers free memberships, I took my studio over to Zibbet.  For now, I'm trying it out as a free listing site, but if there seems to be interest, I'll go "Pro".
I'm still stocking the store, but have a few items up and running that I was able to import from Artfire.  I'll be taking pictures and writing up descriptions over the next several days, so it'll be awhile before I'm fully stocked.  Yet, I invite you to stop by and give me your thoughts -- good or bad.  I'm always making typos and flubbing up my grammar, so I'd greatly appreciate any input you might have.
